Honolulu Festival Weekend Offers Free Cultural Entertainment, Starting February 7

HONOLULU
Thursday, March 5, 2015

WHAT: A showcase of Pacific Rim cultural entertainment, music and dance performances, movie screenings, craft vendors, and booths is displayed at the Honolulu Festival. Best of all, admission to everyone is FREE.

WHEN: SATURDAY, MARCH 7 (See schedule attached)

WHERE: Three Locations:
Hawaii Convention Center
Waikiki Beach Walk – Plaza Lawn on Lewers Street
Ala Moana Center – Center Stage

HIGHLIGHTS: The following are featured events at the Hawaii Convention Center:

Bon Dance: Musicians and singers will lead Hawaii’s first bon dance of 2015 from a volunteer-made Yagura.
Ennichi Corner: Designed for children, this section will offer fun, hands-on activities inspired by the traditional Japanese Saint’s Day Festival.
Anime Corner: Japanese anime fans will enjoy a cosplay café, Kawaii-kon, and other exciting exhibits and activities.
Craft Fair and Exhibitions: More than 100 local and visiting crafters and vendors will display a wide variety of crafts, arts, food, and more. 
Ecotourism Symposium: Learn the significance of ecotourism in Hawaii, 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. in Room 301.
Film Festival: Enjoy free films from Japan, including the award-winning Samurai Hustle at 2:00 p.m. in Room 311.

PARKING: Free media parking available at the Hawaii Convention Center
