Kaiser Permanente Expands Access to Physician Care

Five Physicians Join the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group

Kaiser Permanente Hawaii today announced five new physicians have joined its medical group on Oahu, including David Kho, MD (radiology), Christine Kim, MD (hospitalist), Amit Shah, MD (cardiology), Rika Suzuki, MD (psychiatry), and Shirley Tamoria, MD (family medicine). They join over 450 physicians and providers who form the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group (HPMG), the state’s largest multi-specialty medical group, providing comprehensive care to Kaiser Permanente’s nearly 230,000 members.

Dr. Kho earned his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, NY. He completed his fellowship training in Musculoskeletal Radiology and Radiology Informatics at the University of Maryland, School of Medicine. Dr. Kho is board certified by the American Board of Radiology. 

A graduate of the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM), Dr. Kim completed her residency and post-residency training at the Los Angeles County + University of Southern California Medical Center.   She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Shah earned his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, NC and completed his residency at Yale University in New Haven, Conn.  His fellowship was completed at George Washington University Medical Center in DC. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease and nuclear cardiology.

Dr. Suzuki earned her medical degree from JABSOM, where she also completed her residency and fellowship training in general psychiatry. She is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Most recently, Dr. Tamoria served as senior physician with Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco. Prior to that, she was with Kaiser Permanente Hawaii serving in the Department of Family Medicine. She earned her medical degree from JABSOM and completed her residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY.
