Kaiser Permanente Hawaii today announced four new physicians have joined its medical group, including two on Oahu – Julienne Aulwes, MD (psychiatry), who will practice at the Waipio Clinic and the Moanalua Medical Center, and Mii Hawkins, MD (family medicine) at Koolau Clinic in Kaneohe – and two on Maui – Claire Coco, MD, specialist in family medicine, at Maui Lani Clinic and Amber Sakuda, MD, specialist in psychiatry, at the Wailuku Clinic. They join over 450 physicians and providers who form the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group (HPMG), the state’s largest multi-specialty medical group, providing comprehensive care to Kaiser Permanente’s 230,000-plus members.
Dr. Aulwes joins Kaiser Permanente Hawaii as a psychiatrist and received her doctorate from the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine. She completed her residency at the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Dr. Hawkins received her medical degree from the University of California, San Diego and completed her residency at Memorial Family Medicine in Long Beach, Calif. She most recently served at Memorial Prompt Care in Huntington Beach, Calif. and, prior to that, Kaiser Permanente’s Mapunapuna Clinic on Oahu. She is board certified in family medicine.
Dr. Coco received her medical degree from Texas A&M Commerce in Temple and completed her residency in family practice at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Previously, she was a private practice physician in Alexandria, LA. She is board certified by the American Academy of Family Physicians.
A graduate of the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine, Dr. Sakuda completed her residency and fellowship at the University of Hawaii Department of Psychiatry. She most recently served as a resident physician with the Hawaii Residency Programs and is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
