As the leader of Hawai‘i’s most experienced public relations practice, Nathan is immersed in Hawai‘i’s business community. He utilizes his media insights, marketplace knowledge and industry connections to counsel clients in various sectors to help achieve their business objectives. He has a strong background in strategic planning, media relations and emerging media and experience in all aspects of public relations, including tourism, corporate, public affairs, issues management, crisis communications, government and community relations.

Along with being a 15-year veteran of the company, Nathan represents Anthology’s next generation of leadership. He brings a fresh perspective to the ever-changing landscape of communications, and how these methods of outreach can be used most effectively to advance the strategic direction and success of Anthology’s clients. 

Nathan serves on the board of directors for the Honolulu Festival, Friends of the Judiciary History Center of Hawai‘i, and Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Travel and Tourism Section. In 2013, the PRSA Hawai‘i Chapter awarded him the President’s Leadership Award in recognition of his contributions to the profession’s success. He is also a past president of PRSA Hawai‘i. Raised on Hawai‘i Island, Nathan graduated from the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa, earning a B.A. in Journalism. 

Senior Vice President

Patrick has been with Anthology since 1992 and accrued a wide range of experience on public affairs issues and tourism marketing. He has a strong background in strategic planning and corporate communications, led numerous public information programs, is a superb writer, and has excellent working relationships with news media. 

Throughout his career Patrick has provided pro bono public relations support to worthy causes and currently serves as a volunteer board member of Duke’s OceanFest. He is an alumnus of the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa, earning a B.A. and M.A. in Communication.


Senior Vice President

Bernie has more than 23 years of travel and tourism public relations experience, and has been part of the Anthology team since 2001. She is an expert at developing editorial coverage for clients in travel and consumer media, as well as planning and executing creative promotions with top brands. Born and raised on O‘ahu, her communications career began as a TV news anchor and reporter, working in San Francisco, Honolulu, and Guam. 

In her spare time, Bernie volunteers for the American Heart Association-Hawaii Chapter and Filipino Community Center. She earned a B.A. in English from the University of California, Berkeley. 


Vice President

David specializes in public affairs work, developing strategic communications plans involving community outreach, issues management and crisis communications for clients working in state government, energy, land development, agriculture and other fields. He has produced marketing communications materials and developed bylined editorials for local, national and international clients.

David is the incoming President for the Hawai‘i Chapter of Public Relations Society of America and is a recipient of its Hokupa‘a Award for leadership. He graduated from the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa with a B.B.A. in Marketing.
